Though it seems too idealistically good to be true , nevertheless this kind of individual culture seems more attractive than the oppressive forcing of chinese culture occurring in china today .
But while some of their leaders have talked idealistically about the need for " real democracy " , the vast majority of villagers insist their actions have nothing to do with politics and everything to do with their basic economic needs .
Whatever the causes , and I must stress that the above is just my unqualified ramblings , the net result is an impoverished , starving and paranoid nation with a massive , idealistically loyal and generally proficient military .
